Philosophy of Education My philosophy of education would include a classroom that supports creativity and gives students an opportunity to explore the world in the confines of four walls. Knowledge results from countless experiences and interactions throughout an individualââ¬â¢s lifetime. I believe the purpose of education is to allow students to discover who they are through exploring who has come before them, and what is possible for them in the future. Formal education should provide students with more than a foundation in basic disciplines. It should develop skills that will facilitate living and working in an ever-changing world; one filled with diversity. As a teacher, I would hope to illustrate to my students how vital each and every one of them is to the world as a whole. My classroom would be bright and colorful. Examples of studentsââ¬â¢ work would be displayed. The environment will be student centered. The desks would be arranged in a circle for class discussions, and be moved into separate stations for cooperative work. Computers would be stationed around the classroom and used frequently. Discovery based learning would be a major factor considered in the design of my classroom. Students will have the choice of using various resources and materials to suit their preferred style of learning. Some of us are listeners, readers, or just may simply need to get our hands dirty. Introduction: Early Childhood care and Education (ECCE). ââ¬Å"A Child is born without barriers. Itââ¬â¢s needs are integrated and it is we who choose to compartmentalize them into health, nutrition, or education. Yet the child itself cannot isolate its hunger for food from its hunger for affection or its hunger for knowledge. â⬠ECCE comprises of three terms which can be defined as under: â⬠¢Early childhood. The period that presents developmental continuum starts from conception to 8 years. NCERT has extended it to 8 years with the aim to ensure a gradual and smooth transition from pre-primary to primary education, which is structured, requires effective interface. â⬠¢Care:- This term has been added in recognition of the fact that young children need care and nurturing. In addition to their health and nutritional needs, their psychological and emotional needs also have to be met adequately for their holistic development. â⬠¢Education:-The term education covers learning, a process of acquiring knowledge, skills, habits and of course focuses to prepare child to entire formal educational system. Form the above definition of ECCE one can easily understand that: â⬠¢Developments during this stage ââ¬â physical, language, cognitive and socio- emotional have several inter-related dimensions â⬠¢Each of these influence one another and are developing simultaneously â⬠¢Promoting a synergistic approach is the best way to ensure holistic development and learning in the child during early years. Developmentally Appropriate Activities for PSE Period Since the approach to be adopted during this stage has to be non formal, activity based, play way as such certain activities for different developments are suggested as under: Physical Development: Gross motor development Walking, running, jumping, creeping, crawling, rolling, swinging, hopping, climbing (ascending & descending) rhythmic movements, throwing, catching and kicking a ball, walking forward and backward, balancing on foot etc. Fine Motor Development. Threading beads, tearing/ cutting and pasting bits of paper on a given figure, playing with blocks, drawing, coloring using crayons, painting using brush, printing, paper folding, clay work, sorting, pattern making, using manipulative material, pouring, playing with blocks, puzzles and jigsaw Playing with pebbles, buttons, twigs, leaves, shells, bottle caps, petals of flowers etc could be manipulated by a teacher. For example a figure could be drawn on the floor and the child could be asked to arrange the outline with the pebbles etc. Language Development: a) Conversation. 1. Free conversation ââ¬Å"What is your name? â⬠ââ¬Å"What did you see on your way to school? â⬠Market place, school ground, life at home, life in the fields (for rural children), exhibition (for urban children) etc. Children should be encouraged to narrate their personal experiences. b) Story-Telling. While narrating a story a teacher must bear certain points in mind: â⬠¢The children must be seated in a semi circle so that the teacher is not too far from any one of them. â⬠¢The story should be according to the interest of the children. It should be related to the experiences they have in their day-to-day life like dogs, cats, cows, parents, sisters, friends, neighbours etc. â⬠¢Story should not be violent, as children tend to get scared easily. â⬠¢If the story permits voice modulation must be done for instance there must be a difference in the sound made by a cat or a dog. â⬠¢The story must be short and precise as it is difficult to hold the attention of children for a long time. â⬠¢The vocabulary used should be simple and according to the ability of the children since they become restless and lose interest in the story. â⬠¢ The teacher should also in between introduce new words so that the vocabulary of the children increases. â⬠¢Story telling without any aids: If able to narrate the story with facial expressions, voice modulations, no aids are required. Children will enjoy the story. â⬠¢Story telling with aids: Pictures and cards, Picture books, Puppets, Dramatization and Rhymes and songs Pre- Reading a) Verbal Discrimination Name a few objects and ask the children to identify the odd one e. g. Cow, Goat, Bus, Lion . Cabbage, cauliflower, apple, potato. b) Visual Auditory Discrimination Visual auditory discrimination cards with chart paper or card board (size 9â⬠x 3â⬠). Three pictures starting with the same sound and one object starting with a different sound. E. g. Apple, axe, ant, ball, etc. c) Pre-Writing a) Joining Dots. b) Colouring in enclosed spaces. August 7, 2009 Criminal Law- 2 Essay on Strict Liability Crimes Having no element for Mens Rea, consequently permits punishment on those that may be blameless to a crime. With that fact, there is definitely a wide range of controversial pro's and con's. I personally am unbiased either way regarding this topic, for any and all concerns I feel are legitimate. What I will set forth here is unbiased opinion and facts to all pro's and con's. In this world there are many regular civilians and citizens that may encounter, in some form or another, an inconvenience, mishap or even loss on many degrees' due to someone's negligence or culpable liability. Which will lead me to one's take on the pro's or benefit to the existence of strict liability crimes. First and foremost, when someone is hurt or harmed, they want recourse and they want it from whomever is liable, or from the closes person to that liable party. So they care nothing about ones blamelessness or mental intent, which in this case the law would not hold prudent anyway. To them and to the law ââ¬Å"public health and safety come first. â⬠For them an act alone is all that would actually need to be proved. For if that were not the case, then the possible victims would not have any remedy under the law. Further more, the benefits to society outweighs the cost of punishing those that may have no true blame. As for the con's in strict liability offenses, one might argue that being held liable without subjective or objective fault may be a violation to the U. S. Constitution. Where this stipulation actually contradicts the Model Penal Code (MPC) etc. on criminal liability and the stature of concurrence. Further more, with there being no actual or effective means on protection against strict liability or accidents, leaves a broad range of exceptional blameworthiness. Where ââ¬Å"theyâ⬠could say ââ¬Å"we are the victims! â⬠adversely this could jeopardize society and not protect it, thus curtail much human (especially professional) activities etc. at the fear of any possible culpable negligence. So here I have just a few to name the least, of pro's and con's on strict liability. So as you see we all have some legitimate place or say in this very controversial matter. For all people: individuals, civilians, families, cooperations, businesses, functions, police force and all professionals have some form of risk here. Over all I think the law on strict liability is well needed and the sacrifice's are well worth the gainsâ⬠¦ fo r better of for worse.

It was discovered that most of the music therapy was effective in the short term effect while it had little or no effect in long-term. This type of contract may be used in situations in which the accounting system used by the contractor for determination of costs is easily applicable to the contract and where appropriate surveillance at the time that the performance is underway (Schwalbe, K.
